The education committee assists the Pastor, Pastoral Staff, and
Pastoral Council in overseeing
the faith education of youth and adults in all matters pertaining to
education at Saint Malachy.

Catechist - faith-filled volunteers willing to impart
their faith to children in Grades K - 8 as an assist to parents
who are the primary educations of the faith. Classes are held
weekly September through April.

Catechist Assistant - assist and supports catechist in
classroom setting.

Substitute Catechist - volunteers are needed when catechists
are unavailable for class.

Monitor - maintain order in the building.

Vacation Bible School - volunteers provide a week-long
program for our children each summer.

Playground
Supervisor - maintains safety on the playground any day,
Monday through Friday.

Cafeteria Helper
- serves the children at lunchtime any day, Monday through Friday.

Tutor
- assists with various subjects in grades 4 to 8.
Adult Education

Baptism Preparation - provides
information to parents and godparents regarding Baptism.

Bible Study - Scripture study in
a group setting that meets weekly throughout the year.

Pre-Cana
- held twice a year to prepare engaged couples for marriage.
The team consists of the Pastor and married couples.

Small Faith Communities - group
of ordinary people listening to their own faith story and the faith
stories of others in light of the Scriptures in an attempt to make
sense of their life, of life itself, in a small, safe, intimate
environment.

Team
Member - shares his or her faith and religious experience
with those preparing to enter the Catholic Church.

Sponsor
- offers encouragement, good example, and faith journey with those
preparing to enter the Church.

Adult Team Member - guides education,
spiritual, social, and service opportunities for high school youth
to learn how to live their faith. Team meets monthly to carry
out vision for Youth Ministry.

Youth Ministry Activity Assistant
- adult assistance needed to facilitate special events.
